Spare Bedroom inspiration-toile fabric

I bought several panels of toile fabric several months ago. I have 6 panels of the blue and about 12 of the cream and black. (notice the price-yes that is correct $1.00) I also have 4 panels of black and cream curtains in a different cream and black pattern. I'd like to use the black and cream in our spare room and recover this chair at the same time. The fabric is original on the chair but the cats used it as a scratching post and it is all tore up. The chair belonged to our friends mother and hubby and I both love it. I am going to try to recover this chair myself and was hoping someone might now of a good tutorial for a wing back chair? I haven't decided on an accent color yet or whether to go with stripes checks and solids. I want the room to be classy and elegant, kinda tough since all we have in there is a futon right now and lots of junk, but like I told hubby deciding what I want to do is the hardest part, now if it would just warm up abit I could get in there and get started.

Don't leave design magazines laying around

Welcome to my redesigned blog thanks to http://www.backgroundfairy.com/

We went to Dallas this weekend to visit friends and our friend Becky had tons of decorating magainzes and books. Since it was a nice weekend and the sun was shinning, what better way to kill a day than sit by the pool in the sun and read. Seriously I can't remember the last time I read anything in hard print most I read is online. Baby was with us so while he was sleeping I started to get inspired to get our house done. I've been inspired for a long time but with an infant it is next to impossible to get much done by the time the weekend roles around. Today, I was looking at a few blogs trying to figure out what to do with this poor miserable kitchen. I read a few bloggers who have had success painting laminate. I can live with the cabinets right now but the countertops have to go!! My kitchen is on the right Susan 4664 did a nice job-I like the black appliances. Time to start shopping for some paint!!
